Privacy Policy
Last updated October 13, 2026 · CutWrap is operated by Quantum Leap Mind LLC · support@cutwrap.com
The short version. CutWrap edits your videos on your own Mac. Your videos, photos, voice, chats, boards and plans stay on your devices and in your own iCloud Drive. We do not sell your data, show ads, track you across apps or websites, or use analytics in the apps. Anything that leaves your device is something you asked for, and it is listed below.
This policy covers the CutWrap app for Mac, the CutWrap app for iPhone, and this website (cutwrap.com). Questions: support@cutwrap.com.
What stays on your devices
- Your media and work. Videos, photos, recordings, edits, captions, boards, plans, chats and the things CutWrap learns about how you like your videos are stored on your Mac (and, if you choose an external drive, there). We never receive them.
- Your iPhone and Mac talk through your own iCloud Drive. Requests and finished videos you send between your iPhone and your Mac are kept in a CutWrap folder in your iCloud Drive, under your Apple account. We have no access to it.
- Speech, camera and microphone. Dictation, voice mode and recording happen on the device. Speech is turned into text by Apple's on-device recognition. Camera and microphone are used only while you record or talk to CutWrap.
- CutWrap AI. CutWrap's built-in assistant runs on your Mac. Its model is downloaded once from a public model library; after that it works offline and your questions never leave the Mac.
- Voices, music and pictures made on the Mac. CutWrap's natural voices, music maker and captioning run on your Mac. Their models are downloaded once from a public model library (Hugging Face) and then work offline.
- Email you connect. If you connect a mailbox (for example Gmail, iCloud, Outlook or Proton through Proton Bridge), CutWrap talks to your mail provider directly from your Mac. Your mail and its password stay on your Mac; the password is kept in your Mac's Keychain. Nothing passes through us.
- Business projects. The social accounts you list, their numbers, the comments and messages filed into your inbox, your content calendar, rules, ad drafts and reports are stored on your Mac, in that project only.
- Accounts you connect for posting. Sign-in tokens for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X are stored in your Mac's Keychain.
What leaves your device, and why
| When | What is sent | To |
|---|---|---|
| You activate a licence (Mac app bought from cutwrap.com) | Your licence key, a one-way scrambled code that identifies your Mac (not its serial number), and your Mac's name, so you can recognise it in your licence | Our licence server (license.cutwrap.com) |
| The app checks for updates | The app's version | Our server |
| You turn on "Learn together with every CutWrap" (off unless you turn it on) - ratings | Only a rating, its reason and the kind of edit (for example "too long", the look, a rough length). Never your words, files, videos or anything that identifies you | Our server |
| You post a video | The video, its caption and the time to post it | Only the networks you connect and choose (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X). Nothing posts until you press Post |
| You use your own Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini account in CutWrap | Your request and what the AI needs to answer it | That company, through its own app on your Mac and under its own privacy policy |
| You ask for research or paste a link | Your search words, or the link | The public site it is about (for example YouTube, TikTok or a web search), to read public pages and previews |
| You use AI video generation with your own key (optional) | Your prompt | The provider whose key you added |
| You connect a cloud AI to your Mac with CutWrap Link (optional) | The AI's requests and CutWrap's answers, encrypted | Our relay (link.cutwrap.com), which passes them on and does not keep them |
| You connect an AI assistant (Meta Muse, ChatGPT or Grok) to CutWrap in Bots (optional) | Once: a one-time sign-in code you type. Then: the assistant's requests and CutWrap's answers, encrypted in transit. We keep only what the sign-in needs - the assistant app's name and sign-in return address, the code for 10 minutes (used once), and scrambled (hashed) access passes that expire after 1 hour (renewal passes after 90 days). We never keep the requests or answers. The assistant can only do what you allowed for it in CutWrap › Bots › Permissions, and switching it off stops it at once | Our sign-in service (lessons.cutwrap.com), which passes them to your Mac |
| You use your iPhone away from your home Wi-Fi | Your iPhone's requests to your Mac and the answers, encrypted in transit and checked with a key only your devices share | A secure tunnel on Cloudflare's network to your Mac. We don't keep anything that passes through it |
| The same "Learn together with every CutWrap" switch - lessons | Once a day, general editing lessons only (for example "cut the first 2 seconds of silence") with a random install number - never anything you told CutWrap about yourself, and nothing containing a name, link, file path or number | Our lessons service (lessons.cutwrap.com) |
| You turn on Work backup (off unless you turn it on) | Your Work (boards, plans, scripts, documents), locked on your Mac with a key made from your own recovery code. Only scrambled pieces with random names leave the Mac - not even file names | Your own iCloud Drive, or online storage you choose (such as Cloudflare R2 or Alibaba Cloud). Nobody can open it without your recovery code - including us |
| You add social accounts to a business project | The account's public name, to read its public posts and their public numbers (TikTok, YouTube) and public comments (YouTube) | Those public sites |
| You use other AI services with your own account or key (optional) | Your request, prompt or picture reference | The service you chose - for example Alibaba Cloud (Qwen, Wan), xAI (Grok), Meta, OpenAI images or fal.ai - under its own privacy policy |
| You connect your store to a business project (optional) | Your Mac asks the store you chose for your recent orders - read-only, with a key you create there. CutWrap only counts sales and revenue per day and product; the key stays in your Mac's Keychain and the totals stay on your Mac | Your store: Lemon Squeezy, Stripe, Shopify or Gumroad, under its own terms |
| You connect Telegram (optional) | The messages you send your own CutWrap bot and its replies | Telegram |
Ads and money. CutWrap never spends money by itself. Ad drafts wait for your approval in CutWrap; an assistant you connect (such as Meta Muse with your Meta Ads Manager) can only launch an ad you approved, and only if you allowed it to spend.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no selling or renting of data, no data brokers.
- No training of AI on your videos, boards, messages or anything else you make.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites, and no analytics or crash-reporting services in the apps.
- No accounts with us: you don't sign up anywhere. Beyond your licence and the short-lived sign-in records above, we keep nothing about you.
Purchases
If you buy CutWrap on the App Store, Apple handles the payment and we receive no payment details. If you buy the Mac app on cutwrap.com, the payment is handled by our checkout provider, who sends us your email address and the licence you bought so we can deliver and support it.
What we keep, and for how long
- Licence records (key, scrambled Mac code, Mac name, purchase email): for as long as the licence is active, so you can reinstall and move to a new Mac.
- Anonymous ratings, if you shared them: kept as anonymous totals.
- Assistant sign-ins (if you connect one): the assistant app's name and return address, and scrambled access passes - deleted automatically when they expire (1 hour, or 90 days for renewal passes).
- Shared lessons, if you turned "Learn together with every CutWrap" on: the general lessons and a random install number, kept to share them with other CutWraps.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to help you.
Your choices
- Turn "Learn together with every CutWrap" (ratings and lessons) on or off any time: Mac app › Memory.
- Disconnect any posting account in the Mac app, or remove CutWrap's access in that network's settings.
- Switch off any assistant (Meta Muse, ChatGPT, Grok) in CutWrap › Bots - its access stops at once - or remove CutWrap in that assistant's connector settings.
- Turn Work backup off at any time: Mac app › Settings › Storage & backup.
- Delete what CutWrap has learned in Memory, or everything with Settings › uninstall.
- Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or to delete it: support@cutwrap.com. We answer within 30 days.
This website
cutwrap.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect the site, and its fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
Requests from governments and others
We share information about you only when a valid legal order requires it - never because someone simply asks. When a request arrives, we check that it is lawful and specific, give only the information it requires, and tell you before we do, unless the law forbids that. There is little we could share: your videos, boards, messages and work stay on your own devices, and we keep only your licence record and short-lived sign-in records. Questions: support@cutwrap.com.
Children
CutWrap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. If a change affects what leaves your device, the app will say so before it happens.
